Simhamukha, also known as Senge Dongma in (Tib), means the lion face or lion’s head.

She is depicted with a lion’s head, symbolizing her fearless and ferocious nature. Her lion head often has a peaceful expression, signifying her ability to tame and subdue negativity and obstacles.

Simhamukha stands on her left leg with her right leg drawn up, positioned in the middle of a blazing fire of pristine awareness.

She has one face with three eyes, her face shows bared fangs and curled tongue.

Her body is blue black in color, with her hair, eyebrows, and beard are orange and flow upwards.

She wears five dry human heads as a crown and a garland of fifty wet, blood-dripping human heads.

In her right hand she typically holds a vajra-handled knife (Kartika), raised aloft towards the sky. The kartika symbolizes her ability to cut through ignorance and negative forces.
