This thangka depicts the Lords of the Three Families (Rigsum Gonpo), representing the three essential qualities of enlightenment: power, wisdom, and compassion. At the center stands Vajrapani, the embodiment of enlightened power and protective energy. Shown in a dynamic posture and holding the vajra, he symbolizes the indestructible strength that removes obstacles and safeguards the Dharma.
To the left appears Manjushri (Jampalyang), the bodhisattva of transcendent wisdom, holding the flaming sword that cuts through ignorance and the lotus bearing the Prajñāpāramitā scripture. On the right is Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), the embodiment of boundless compassion, often depicted in a peaceful seated posture, expressing loving-kindness toward all beings.
Together, these three bodhisattvas represent the harmonious integration of power, wisdom, and compassion, illustrating the complete path to awakening and inspiring practitioners to cultivate these qualities within themselves.
